Centenary Celebrations
Charity exhibition / auction of art work by former students of Gortnor Abbey
Past students of Jesus and Mary Secondary School, Gortnor Abbey will host a charity exhibition/auction of art work in Gortnor Abbey on the weekend of the 28th of September 2012 to mark the beginning of the centenary celebrations of the sisters of Jesus and Mary who arrived originally in Errew.
We the committee would like to invite you to donate a piece of art work to this worthy cause. The deadline for the submission is the 13th of May 2012.
The aim is to collect 100 art pieces at €100 each. The scale of work should not exceed 3ft sqd. Please include a photo, the title of the work, a brief biography and the dates of years spent at Gortnor Abbey.
There will also be an exhibition of old art work from our school days. This work may be collected at the end of the week long exhibition. For further information please contact any of the committee members

Centenary Celebrations
Call to all pastpupils,
members of staff, past and present
The Jesus & Mary Congregation in Ireland and Gortnor Abbey Secondary School in particular,
are celebratng their Centenaries in 2012. Gortnor Abbey’s Centenary celebrations will be
held over the weekend of September 28th, 29th and 30th, 2012.
As part of our celebrations, Gortnor Abbey are publishing a Centenary Commemora&tive
Book which will include a brief history of the school, photographs and artcles of interest
from down through the years. To this end we encourage articles, photographs from pastpupils,
members of staff, past and present, for inclusion in this publication.
If we could invite you to rekindle those halcyon days at Gortnor Abbey, relive fond
memories, a funny story, friendships made, sporting, theatrical memories or whatever you
choose to write.
As the deadline is now looming, we would appreciate if you could reply as soon as possible.
