Mentoring System

Older students can provide valuable peer support to younger students. Here at Gortnor Abbey we have developed a programme where some 4th Year studentsare trained to act as a support to first year students and to provide a line of communication between the teaching staff and the new students. It creates an atmosphere of friendship and trust which can ease the transition from Primary to Secondary School.



Tutor System
Each First Year class is assigned a tutor to help cater for the particular needs of incoming First Years.
